Newsday's Neil Best Gives Smithtown Students Props on His Blog!

Here is the transcript from Neil Best's Watchdog Blog, on Thursday, December 17th...from his visit to our classes here in Smithtown!!!

8:14am By Neil Best

Sorry for lack of blogging the past 24 hours. Left basement for a good cause:

To speak to a group of high school students from Smithtown East and West with an interest in sports, sports business and sports journalism about my career.

I've spoken to many school groups over the years but these guys and gals (and their teachers) were the most interested and engaged I've ever encountered.
Good news for America's future!

Afterward I made a rare appearance at headquarters in Melville, where the parking lot seemed less full than it was in the 1980s.

Then on to the Islanders-Rangers game. Sure, the Rangers sleepwalked through parts of the game - especially the first period - but I was struck by the lack of energy and venom in the audience for the two old rivals.

So, what did I miss Wednesday? Baumbach some a story and some cool pictures of old Yankee Stadium coming down here.

Other than that, not much, apparently. Tiger made the front cover of the Post for the 19th consecutive day. Can he make it 'til Christmas?

GREAT JOB SMKTG and SMGT Students! You put SMITHTOWN ON THE MAP!!!
